York Haven, PA (October 20, 2009) Barry Klinedinst Motorsports and the three time Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) Champion Jason Covert will be closing out a very successful 2009 racing season this upcoming weekend at the 22nd Annual ‘Octoberfest 350’ at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD.

Jason and his Barry Klinedinst owned Pre-Mach, Inc. / Red Wing Shoes / Hershey’s Racing Engines / Rocket Chassis Monte Carlo #43A have posted impressive numbers throughout the year while entering 40 events in 2009.  Covert has captured a stout nine wins on his way to 30 top-ten finishes and an astounding 24 top-five’s.  Jason caught fire in July after winning his first ever Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Ohio’s Muskingum County Speedway picking up wins at Hagerstown Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Allegany County Speedway, and Hesston Speedway.  Covert has already won $20,000 in the month of October and would like to add another $10,000 this weekend at Hagerstown where he’s won five times this season.

‘Finishing off the season with a win at Hagerstown would be the icing on the cake really,’ Jason said from his home in York Haven, PA.  ‘Barry and the guys have given me a great car all year long but without the support of our sponsors we couldn’t do this, so I have to thank them.  Hoghead (Robbie Allen) has been a big help to our team, with him, Hershey Racing Engines, American Race Tires, and Rocket Chassis things have been good this year.’

‘We certainly don’t want 2009 to end but at the same time we are looking forward to getting all of our equipment back in line for 2010,’ Covert mentioned, ‘my work is going to have a lot to do with our 2010 season.  We’re going to take a look at all the schedules when they come out and make a decision then on what we’re going to do for next season.’

Jason Covert Gets Emotional Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Win in Ohio!

York Haven, PA (July 8, 2009) Barry Klinedinst Motorsports and the three time and defending Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) Champion Jason Covert, had a short stay at Lernerville Speedway during the Firecracker 100 weekend while during the rescheduled ‘Showdown in Sarvertown’ on Thursday, June 25th, Jason’s motor went sour sending the BK Motorsports team home for the weekend without even competing in the Firecracker 100.  Covert was credited with a 20th place finish.

The following weekend turned out to be much better for Jason and the team as they made their way west for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned ‘Crenos 50’ at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH on Friday, July 3.  Covert won his heat race which included such drivers as Ray Cook, Don O’Neal, Steve Shaver, and Donnie Moran and went on to start third in the 50-lap main event.

Jason and his Barry Klinedinst owned Pre-Mach, Inc. / Red Wing Shoes / Hershey’s Racing Engines / Rocket Chassis Monte Carlo #43A took the lead from California’s Eric Jacobson on the third lap and pulled away from the rest of the field.  Covert maneuvered his way through traffic masterfully and withstood three caution flags to collect his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win and the cool $10,000 that came with it.  Jason was extremely happy and emotional in victory lane, ‘I can’t believe I finally won a Lucas Oil race, I’ve dreamt about this for a long time, the type of drivers who were here tonight, man I don’t know what to say except I wish my dad was here to see this.  I want to thank my car owner Barry Klinedinst, my crew, Robbie Allen, American Racer Tires and Rocket Chassis everything was exceptional tonight and thanks to the fans for coming here to watch us race, I don’t race for a living, we don’t get to travel a lot, so that’s why it’s satisfying to win this race here tonight.’

The BK Motorsports Team was scheduled to be in competition at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH for the $10,000 to-win, MACS sanctioned ‘Pepsi 75’ but rain forced the postponement of the event until Saturday, August 1.

This upcoming Saturday, July 11, the BK Motorsports Team will be in action at Hagerstown Speedway for Ernie D’s 25-lap Late Model Special paying $2,500 to the winner.  The following weekend the boys will head to Bedford Speedway in Bedford, PA and Winchester Speedway in Winchester, VA on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 for a pair of Three State Flyers Series races.  The rain-delayed Three State Flyers Series event from June, 20th will also be run at Winchester Speedway in conjunction with the regularly scheduled July 18th event.

Jason Covert and BK Motorsports have received their new ‘Back-to-Back-to-Back MACS Championship’, 2009 t-shirts.  The beautiful looking tees are available to purchase at the teams hauler for $20.00.
