Boom Briggs Competes in 2010 Florida DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park!

Bear Lake, PA (February 15, 2009)  Rick ‘Boom’ Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team have returned from their week long venture to Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL where the team competed in the Florida DIRTcar Nationals presented by UNOH.  The DIRTcar Nationals consisted of six straight nights of Super Late Model action including the first two events of the 2010 World of Outlaws Late Model Series season.

The week got off to a pretty solid start on Monday as Boom finished fourth in his heat race.  That finish put him on the front row of his B-Main in which he edged past WoO regular Clint Smith for the win and to transfer to the $7,000 to win finale.  Boom battled his way to a 16th place finish to start the week on a good note.  Tuesday night’s festivities were cancelled due to inclement weather and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the week for Briggs and his Meridien Hardwoods, Sorbera Family Chiropractic, Horton Equipment, Asel Enterprises, Briggs Transport, Tony Stec Lumber, Chub Frank Racing, CJ’s Auto Transport sponsored 99B Rocket Chassis.

After the rain on Tuesday, things went downhill for the Briggs Racing Team, eighth place finishes in his heat race as well as his B-Main on Wednesday were not good enough to qualify Boom for the night’s main event.  Thursday was much of the same as a seventh place finish in his heat and a 13th place finish in his B-Main kept Briggs in the pit area for the WoO season opener.  More inclement weather hit the area on Friday, canceling that night’s event with only Saturday’s $10,000 to win WoO show left on the week long grind.  A ninth place finish in his heat and another ninth place finish in his B-Main again left Boom on the sidelines for the main event.

‘On the outside looking in, it looks like we had a really bad week; of course, our finishes indicate that it was.  But in retrospect, we learned a lot about our car that we can bring back home with us and all-in-all, it wasn’t as bad as it looks,’ Boom commented via phone during his quest back to Bear Lake, PA.  ‘After we made the show on Monday, we were excited to get the rest of the week going and we hoped to build off of that.  But on Wednesday, the track threw us for a loop and put us behind all week.  By the time we caught up to what the track was doing, it was too late.  Then the track would change again.  Second verse, same as the first, by the time we caught up to it, it was too late.  But the information we can bring back with us on the car itself, will help a ton when we start racing back home,’  Briggs continued, ‘I need to thank all of my sponsors for making our Florida trip possible, especially Horton Equipment, Sorbera Family Chiropractic, and Asel Enterprises.  Those guys really stepped up to the plate to help us through the week and without them and the rest of our sponsors; we couldn’t do this at all.’

Next up for Boom is the 2009 O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series Banquet on Saturday, February 27 at the Days Inn and Conference Center in Butler, PA.  Briggs will be honored for his second place finish in the ASLMS point standings.

Boom Briggs Launches Brand New BoomBriggs.com for 2010!

Bear Lake, PA (December 8, 2009) Rick ‘Boom’ Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team are proud to announce the launch of their brand new website www.boombriggs.com. The site, which was designed and built by Fleming Design Solutions (FDS) and JNJ Motorsports Media, will pose as the official online home of Bear Lake, Pennsylvania’s Boom Briggs and BBR.

The site will feature everything a fan could want to know about Boom including News, Schedule, Apparel, Sponsors, Photos, Links to Boom’s favorite websites, as well as the crew. "I couldn’t be happier with how the site turned out," quipped Briggs from his shop in Bear Lake, PA. "With our race team growing and with us traveling a lot more with the All Stars and planning on doing more World of Outlaws stuff, we’re not at home as much as we used to be. Having an ‘online home’ will help our fans and sponsors keep tabs on what we’ve been doing outside of our area. In this day and age, you have to have a sharp looking website. The guys at FDS and JNJ really did a fantastic job providing me and the team a website that has a real modern feel and highlights the race team to perfection.

Boom tentatively has the Florida DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Raceway Park in Barberville, FL on his schedule to start the 2010 season followed by the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series Banquet in Butler, PA on February 27, 2010. "We’ll run the two World of Outlaws shows in Volusia on February 11 and 13 and take it from there," Briggs said about the rest of his 2010 schedule. "We are up in the air right now about what we want to do in 2010. We may do a ‘hit‐or‐miss’ type of schedule, may run with the All Stars again, or we may even run with the Outlaws, we just don’t know right now. The All Stars are doing a lot of good things with their schedule and with other incentives for the drivers. There are pro’s and con’s to everything so we will just play by ear for now and see how things shake up after schedule’s are released and after Florida."
