Keith Barbara Set to Open 2010 Season at Mercer Raceway Park South Park, PA (March 22, 2010) Keith Barbara and the Forbes Field Motorsports team will begin their second year with the Lazer Chassis this upcoming Saturday, March 27 at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, PA for the annual ‘Chiller Thriller’ that will pay $2,500 to the winner. ‘We went to Lernerville’s practice on Saturday to shake off some rust and to work the bugs out of the car,’ Keith said from his shop in Pittsburgh. ‘We’re heading to Mercer for the ‘Chiller Thriller’ this Saturday to open up the season and we’ll probably do most of the UFO (Unified Force Race Championship) shows this season. You’ll also see us a lot at PPMS (Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway) and at the Knob (Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex). We’ll also hit some of the bigger shows in the area.’ Barbara continued, ‘After this weekend at Mercer, we’ll have a whole new look on the car again thanks to Jason Fleming at Fleming Design Solutions and Tom Crow at Crow Designs. The new design is really sharp and I can’t wait to see how it looks on the track.’ After this weekend’s ‘Chiller Thriller’ at Mercer Raceway Park the team’s schedule is undetermined. Keith Barbara Looking Forward to 2010 Season South Park, PA (October 20, 2009) Keith Barbara and the Forbes Field Motorsports team spent most of the 2009 season searching for answers with their brand new Lazer Chassis and towards the end of the 2009 season, some answers were found as Keith finished the season as comfortable as he had been in the new car all season. ‘We had a driveshaft fail on us at Pittsburgh for the first (of two) 50 lap features, we got that fixed and were pretty good for the second 50 lapper,’ Keith commented. ‘We started 23rd in that second race and finished third behind two of the best regional drivers out there, Bart Hartman and Jason Covert. It was a relief to get the car right and go forward like we did. It gives us a little momentum going into next year. The car was really good at Cumberland (Allegany County Speedway) too but we blew a rod out of the motor and couldn’t start the feature. I think we could have had another strong run there as well. The weekend at Cumberland pretty much sums up our season. Just when we’d get things going right, something would happen. It’s ok though; we have confidence in the Lazer Chassis and think 2010 will be a much better year.’ Keith finished the season entering 24 events while garnering 11 top-ten’s and four top-five’s while competing at seven different facilities in three different states in what was a rebuilding year for the Forbes Field Motorsports team.
