Boom Briggs Launches Brand New BoomBriggs.com for 2010! Bear Lake, PA (December 8, 2009) Rick ‘Boom’ Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team are proud to announce the launch of their brand new website www.boombriggs.com. The site, which was designed and built by Fleming Design Solutions (FDS) and JNJ Motorsports Media, will pose as the official online home of Bear Lake, Pennsylvania’s Boom Briggs and BBR. The site will feature everything a fan could want to know about Boom including News, Schedule, Apparel, Sponsors, Photos, Links to Boom’s favorite websites, as well as the crew. “I couldn’t be happier with how the site turned out,” quipped Briggs from his shop in Bear Lake, PA. “With our race team growing and with us traveling a lot more with the All Stars and planning on doing more World of Outlaws stuff, we’re not at home as much as we used to be. Having an ‘online home’ will help our fans and sponsors keep tabs on what we’ve been doing outside of our area. In this day and age, you have to have a sharp looking website. The guys at FDS and JNJ really did a fantastic job providing me and the team a website that has a real modern feel and highlights the race team to perfection...MORE
Matt Lux Wins Lernerville’s Steel City Stampede, World Finals to Close 2009 Franklin, PA (October 28, 2009) Matt Lux and his M3 Motorsports, Inc. race team has fought off demons all year long. The team has traveled more in 2009 than in the past hitting 38 total sanctioned events, but has had their share of bad luck while competing in two countries and ten different states. ‘We’ve just been off all year,’ Lux said. ‘Recently we’ve been much better but still not where we need or want to be. We started the year with the new style Rocket Chassis and we worked real hard to get a grasp of it, I was getting more comfortable in the car, but we weren’t performing any better. So we chose to switch back to the old style black front end Rocket. Since then, we’ve been much better and I’ve been much more comfortable.’ The last month of the season has seen dramatic improvement from the M3 Motorsports Inc. Racing Team as Matt has finished outside of the top ten just once since September 19. ‘We can still be proud about that one finish outside of the top ten,’ Lux said. ‘We finished 24th at the Dirt Track World Championships out at Lawrenceburg (IN) Speedway. But we qualified seventh and with the season we’ve had, that’s a victory in itself.’ Lux’s strong qualifying effort landed him the fastest time provisional for the $50,000 to win event but after 34 laps, Matt pulled in with steering issues on his AlturnaMATS® / Equipment World Magazine / DICA / Maloney Tool & Mold / Wedge Motorsports, Cornett powered Rocket Chassis #21....MORE
Jason Covert Set to Finish Season at Hagerstown After Successful 2009 Season! York Haven, PA (October 20, 2009) Barry Klinedinst Motorsports and the three time Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) Champion Jason Covert will be closing out a very successful 2009 racing season this upcoming weekend at the 22nd Annual ‘Octoberfest 350’ at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD. Jason and his Barry Klinedinst owned Pre-Mach, Inc. / Red Wing Shoes / Hershey’s Racing Engines / Rocket Chassis Monte Carlo #43A have posted impressive numbers throughout the year while entering 40 events in 2009. Covert has captured a stout nine wins on his way to 30 top-ten finishes and an astounding 24 top-five’s. Jason caught fire in July after winning his first ever Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Ohio’s Muskingum County Speedway picking up wins at Hagerstown Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, Allegany County Speedway, and Hesston Speedway. Covert has already won $20,000 in the month of October and would like to add another $10,000 this weekend at Hagerstown where he’s won five times this season. ‘Finishing off the season with a win at Hagerstown would be the icing on the cake really,’ Jason said from his home in York Haven, PA. ‘Barry and the guys have given me a great car all year long but without the support of our sponsors we couldn’t do this, so I have to thank them. Hoghead (Robbie Allen) has been a big help to our team, with him, Hershey Racing Engines, American Race Tires, and Rocket Chassis things have been good this year.’ ....MORE
Keith Barbara Looking Forward to 2010 Season South Park, PA (October 20, 2009) Keith Barbara and the Forbes Field Motorsports team spent most of the 2009 season searching for answers with their brand new Lazer Chassis and towards the end of the 2009 season, some answers were found as Keith finished the season as comfortable as he had been in the new car all season. ‘We had a driveshaft fail on us at Pittsburgh for the first (of two) 50 lap features, we got that fixed and were pretty good for the second 50 lapper,’ Keith commented. ‘We started 23rd in that second race and finished third behind two of the best regional drivers out there, Bart Hartman and Jason Covert. It was a relief to get the car right and go forward like we did. It gives us a little momentum going into next year. The car was really good at Cumberland (Allegany County Speedway) too but we blew a rod out of the motor and couldn’t start the feature. I think we could have had another strong run there as well. The weekend at Cumberland pretty much sums up our season. Just when we’d get things going right, something would happen. It’s ok though; we have confidence in the Lazer Chassis and think 2010 will be a much better year.’ Keith finished the season entering 24 events while garnering 11 top-ten’s and four top-five’s while competing at seven different facilities in three different states in what was a rebuilding year for the Forbes Field Motorsports team.....MORE
Superfly’ Coleby Frye Closes Out June with Trip to Lernerville Speedway! Dover, PA (June 24, 2009) Coleby Frye Racing and 2008 MACS Rookie of the Year Coleby Frye spent their month of June chasing the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek as well as the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series. After a disappointing start to the Appalachian Speedweek, Coleby failed to qualify for the feature event at Hagerstown Speedway on June, 6, Frye rebounded with a strong third place finish behind Jeremy Miller and Jeff Rine at Selinsgrove Speedway the following night. Coleby then took a night off and set his sights on Williams Grove on Tuesday, June 9. Frye came home sixth to close out his speedweek after Lincoln and Port Royal were both lost to rain. Coleby’s run at the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series Championship took a turn for the worse in May with an unfortunate weekend in Michigan as Coleby dropped from second in ASLMS points to fifth. While trying to ‘right the ship’ Frye had another bad outing at the $5,000, ASLMS sanctioned ‘Pennzoil 40’ at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, PA finishing a disappointing 19th. ‘Superfly’ was finally able to get things straightened out after putting on a show for the fans at Middlebourne, WV’s Tyler County Speedway. Coleby started 11th in the feature event and battled his way to a second place finish behind Eddie Carrier Jr. The young stars of the All Stars were in full force at ‘The Bullring’ as Coleby, Jared Miley and Jared Hawkins all raced side-by-side and many times three-wide while in the top-five...MORE
